Generous donation helps chemo patients

Four DAB digital radios have been donated to ward 18 at Scunthorpe General Hospital to help chemotherapy patients relax during their treatment.

Ward manager Julieann Woollas said: “The radios will provide our patients, who spend long time periods of time in hospital, with a little bit of relaxation. We would like to thank our ex patient for the thoughtful donation.”

The radios were donated by a former patient who wants to remain anonymous.

Community champion for the hospital’s official charity, The Health Tree Foundation (HTF), Hayley Thompson said: “The kind donation of the DAB digital radios are going to entertain the patients visiting the ward and I am sure there will be plenty of singing from the nursing team too.”
