Thirst-quenching wish granted at hospital

The charity that benefits patients at Grimsby hospital has been busy dealing with ‘wishes’ from members of staff and the public.

Business support manager Jo Avison’s wish for a water fountain to be installed at the outpatients department in Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital has now been granted by The Health Tree Foundation (HTF), which is the charitable arm of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

Jo thought it would be a good idea to create free access to drinking water in the busy waiting area and submitted her request on the HTF website.

Jo said: “Friends and family of patients picked up on the lack of water facilities in the outpatients area during the summer, so we turned to The Health Tree Foundation for help.”

The Health Tree Foundation launched in November 2015 and is already busy granting 85 wishes from staff and members of the public.

Jo added: “Thank you to The Health Tree Foundation. The process was very easy, and this will make a huge difference to our patients.”

Anyone can submit a wish by visiting http://healthtreefoundation.org.uk/circle-of-wishes.
