Vintage vehicles drive up fundraising for Pink Rose Fund

A group of friends from Bonby have raised £1,150 by holding a vintage vehicle and engine rally in aid of the Pink Rose Fund at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby.

The event included stationary engines, cake stalls, craft stalls, vintage tractors and cars and tombola. All of the engines and cars were provided by friends of the fundraisers in the local area.

Fundraiser Tina Clipson said: “The event started as coffee morning and then it snowballed and we ended up with an engine rally. We could never have anticipated the success we have had and are so proud to have raised this money for the Pink Rose Fund.

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and my mum was diagnosed last December. We both received such fantastic care, we were really well looked after and just wanted to give something back.”

The Pink Rose Suite team posed alongside one of the vintage cars used for the rally at Forest Pines Hotel and Golf Resort to accept the cheque.

Advanced nurse practitioner from Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation trust, Helen Lindley said: “We’re so grateful to Tina and the team for raising this brilliant sum of money for our area, it all helps us to continue to provide excellent care and equipment for the women on our ward.”
