Photo call: Grimsby in Bloom

Green-fingered members of Grimsby in Bloom have breathed new life into an overgrown garden at Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

An army of volunteers from the group descended on the area to spruce it up and turn it into a haven of peace and tranquillity for staff, patients and visitors.

You are invited to send a reporter/photographer on Monday August 8 at 11am to see the finished garden. Can you please confirm if you will be attending by emailing Victoria.winterton@nhs.net

The work was undertaken after a member of the public got in touch with the Trust’s Health Tree Foundation charity and asked for the garden to have a make-over. The charity got in touch with Grimsby in Bloom to see if they could lend a hand.

The garden is at the heart of the hospital and can be accessed by people wanting somewhere quiet to sit and enjoy a bit of fresh air.

Volunteers from Grimsby in Bloom and the hospital, who pulled on their gloves and grabbed their trowels, will be showing off their hard work on Monday August 8 at 11am at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital Grimsby.

You can see what the garden looked like before the team got their hands on it in the photo attached.
