Vital signs support from charity

Mums-to-be are set to benefit from additional monitoring equipment thanks to a generous donation from the Scunthorpe General Hospital League of Friends.

The League of Friends supports the hospital by raising funds to buy equipment that enhances patient care and makes life easier for the staff who look after patients.

League of Friends member Donald Clark said: “We do what we can, when we can, we like to help the hospital as much as we possible.”

Midwife Margaret Hunt said: “The monitors help us to take the vital signs of patients, they are an invaluable piece of equipment that we use so frequently and could not manage without them. We are so grateful to the League for their kind donation.”

League of Friends treasurer Harold Edwards said: “The League is very happy to help such a highly praised ward such as maternity. We know what a reassurance the monitors give to patients and how much they help the staff at busy times on the ward.”

The League of Friends works in partnership with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust charity The Health Tree Foundation.
