Jump jive tipi party for charity

A fantastic night of music, dancing and food is being held to raise funds for the Maternity Bereavement Suite appeal at Scunthorpe hospital.

A special jump jive tipi fundraiser is being organised at Hirst Priory, Belton Road, Crowle, on Saturday April 15, at 7pm.

Event director at Hirst Priory Hazel Wheatley is organising the money-spinning event after hearing about the appeal. The venue is known for its weddings, birthdays, christenings and other events.

Hazel said: “We mainly see the happy side of life as people celebrate with their family and friends. When we heard of the fundraising efforts being made by the Health Tree Foundation (HTF) to provide support for our local people in such contrasting circumstances we wanted to be involved in helping them reach their challenging target as quickly as possible.

“We didn’t really know where to start, but a few phone calls to our supportive suppliers and we had all the ingredients for a unique jump jive themed event with an American Deep South twist.”

On the night – which will be hosted in a tipi – there will be live music from Leeds jump jive band The Vintage Sounds, as well as a food experience with sharing platters, jambalaya and mini jar desserts.

There will also be a themed Southern-style drinks menu with a welcome drink of Boogie Woogie fizz for everyone.

Hazel added: “It will be a fantastic fun night that will bring our community together to help raise both funds and awareness for such a fabulous cause.”

Jamie and Phil Foers of Serentipi Ltd, who are providing the tipis for the event, said: “We are in full support of The Health Foundation Tree Maternity Bereavement Suite appeal. We have friends who have been through such a tragic loss, where there are no words to describe such pain and suffering. We cannot think of a more worthy cause.”

Health Tree Foundation (HTF) community champion Hayley Thompson said: “We are looking forward to the event at this beautiful venue, and ask for the local community to join us to help raise the awareness of the Maternity Bereavement Suite appeal.”

Tickets are priced at £35 per person. Please contact Hazel at Hirst Priory on 01724 897270 to purchase them.
