Jacobs Field Services celebrates safety success with stroke donation

Jacobs Field Services have celebrated three years of no incidents at Total Lindsey Oil Refinery with a donation to the stroke fund at The Health Tree Foundation.

Jacobs Field Services and Total Lindsey Oil Refinery Limited have each donated £500 to the stroke fund at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

The workers at Jacobs Field Services chose the stroke fund after one of their colleagues was treated on the stroke unit.  Mick Patterson suffered a stroke earlier in the year and was really grateful for the care he received on the stroke unit. Mick is looking forward to returning to work in July.

Mike Carlile, site manager - Jacob Field Services, said: “This brings our total charity donation to local causes to over £10,000 and we always try to pick something close to the hearts of our team.

“It's clear from the banter Mick is having with the nurses today just how well looked after he was on the ward.

“It’s great to be supporting lovely people who do a wonderful job.”

Jacques Beuckelaers, General Manager – Total Lindsey Oil Refinery Ltd, said: “We started celebrating with donations three years ago; we know the money is well spent within the local community.

“Safety is not there for the paperwork but to act before accidents happen.”

Amanda Young, stroke service coordinator said: “We are really grateful for this brilliant donation. It will go a long way to helping us buy specialist equipment on the unit and those items that make the patient experience that much better when staying in hospital.”

Our fantastic donors help us to help…
