Golf club members tee off to support local charity

Golf club members of Holme Hall golf club donate £1,000 to The Health Tree Foundation’s Maternity bereavement suite appeal at Scunthorpe General hospital.

Keen golfers took to the course throughout a number of golfing events to help support the appeal. The events ranged from golfing weekends to competitions which were all held at the club in Scunthorpe. All club members involved were aged from junior level through to senior level.

President of Holme Hall golf club John Allenby said “I heard about the appeal through a friend and wanted to get involved. As President of the golf club I wanted to pick a local charity for the money to go towards.

“After previously working at Hull Royal Infirmary maternity ward I knew the importance of this appeal and wanted to help.

“As President I wanted to donate to a local charity and support local people within the community”.

Central delivery manager Jane Stoney said “We were overwhelmed with the kind donation we received from Holme Hall golf club and would like to thank John and the members of the club for raising this amazing amount”.

The Health Tree community champion Hayley Thompson said “It is so lovely to see that the community are getting behind the appeal.

“We cannot thank John and the members of the club for their generous donation and support.

“If you would like any information or would like to fundraise for the appeal, we would love to hear from you”
