Glow in the Park Lincolnshire is back!
More than 1,400 people signed up to take part last year and people are being urged to sign up soon to avoid disappointment for the 2017 event.
Sponsorship from the event will be in aid of the Little Lives Fund run by The Health Tree Foundation (HTF), the official charity of Grimsby hospital.
The fund provides money for women and children’s’ services across Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust’s three hospitals – Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole.
People who register can run, walk, jog or dance their way round the action-packed 5k course as they travel through six fun zones where they will experience light shows and obstacles.
The popular event is being held at Cleethorpes’ Meridian Showground on Saturday November 25. Gates will open at 5.30pm and the fun starts at 7pm. There will be a pay bar along with UV face painting stand and fun fair, if it does not rain.
Lauren Alexander, HTF community champion, said: “I am delighted that Glow in the Park is returning to Cleethorpes with this fabulous event. The turnout last year was fabulous so we hope people will sign up soon to avoid disappointment.”
Steph Olliff, operations manager for Glow in the Park said: “The event is open to all ages and abilities from ageing amblers to sprightly sprinters. It is all about having fun and raising as much money as we can at the same time.”
The Little Lives Appeal provides donations for the children’s wards, maternity units, gynaecology wards, child development centres and the children’s outpatient departments.
Lauren added: “Money raised through sponsorship will be used to grant wishes from our patients and staff in our women and children services.”
