Bottoms Up

The Bottoms Up Appeal supports treatment for bowel cancer, and has made a significant impact on the lives of people from Northern Lincolnshire and Goole. Its success is thanks to the dedication of local fundraising efforts, spearheaded by Dr Pearson, consultant surgeon at the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust. The campaign has so far raised hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Funds were raised from a number of different charitable activities, with support from Cleethorpes Cancer Support Group and the Grimsby Telegraph. These funds have enabled the most recent developments on ward B3 possible, including £630,000 worth of refurbishments.

The funds from the appeal have also purchased a counselling suite and treatment bay, home to six high observation beds and monitors.

The dedication of many people made these developments possible, and Dr Pearson was recognised with an MBE for his work.
