Glittering masquerade ball raises more than £3,000

A glittering Vegas themed masqueared ball raised £3,500 for Scunthorpe General Hospital’s charity, The Health Tree Foundation.

The ball, which was held at the Double Tree by the Hilton in Broughton , was organised by Baby Dinosaurs business owner Lisa Hensby and saw more than 120 people attend.

Funds raised throughout the evening were to help create a more comfortable environment for families whose children pass away on the Disney Ward or in A&E at Scunthorpe hospital.

Lisa organised a huge raffle and an auction, which included prizes such as a trip to New York and a day at the races, which helped top up the money raised.

Lisa said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made the event a huge success and to all the companies who kindly sponsored it.

“To be able to make an environment more comfortable for a parent to say goodbye to their child is so important and it is thanks to all who attended the ball that this will be able to be made possible.”

HTF community champion Hayley Thompson said: “We are extremely grateful to Lisa for hosting such an outstanding event and for going to such lengths to support her local hospital.

“The attention to detail was fantastic and there was some great attractions including stilt walkers, a donut wall, a casino, a magician and a disco. We would like to thank everyone who made this fundraising event possible.”
