Bikers deliver festive cheer to children at Scunthorpe General Hospital

Santa’s sleigh came in the form of a motorcycle as keen bikers delivered festive cheer to the children on the Disney ward at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

With enough Christmas goodies to fill two vans, around 30 bikers turned out in force on Sunday December 16 to spread some Christmas joy.

Bikers got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up in fancy dress to deliver the toys which had been kindly donated by the public in local Asda and Sainsburys supermarkets.

A spokesperson for Scunny Bikers said: “It is great to be able to give something back to the community with the support of fellow bikers and the local people.”

Disney ward deputy sister Vikki Mcalpine said: “We would like to say a huge thank you for all the efforts the Scunny Bikers go to year on year to deliver such a wonderful time to the children here at the hospital.”

The bikers wanted to thank the supermarkets, staff at The Old Farmhouse Pub which is where they set off from, Ongo for the loan of two vans and BuildBase for supplying high visibility vests for the riders.
