Uncle Henry’s donation set to help bereaved parents

An egg-cellent fundraiser has help swell the coffers of Scunthorpe hospital’s Maternity Bereavement Suite appeal.

Staff at Uncle Henry’s in Grayingham raised £260 during the Easter bank holiday in the farm shop by asking customers to have a go on two quiz boards.

Liam Redmond, shop and purchasing manager, said: “The Maternity Bereavement Suite appeal touched the hearts of customers and staff alike and Uncle Henry’s is proud to be able to support such a great cause for the local community.”

The appeal, which has been launched by launched by the hospital’s official charity, The Health Tree Foundation (HTF), needs to raise £150,000 to be able to create a comfortable environment for bereaved mothers who sadly lose their baby. The money will be used to create a bereavement suite on the central delivery suite.

HTF community champion Hayley Thompson said: “We would like to thank Uncle Henry’s staff and customers for helping raise awareness of the appeal and for the kind donation to the appeal.”
